It's that time of the year again so last week I spent some time making Christmas cards. This card is a pretty quick card because I used some left overs from the personalized Christmas cards I made earlier. I'll show these cards once they are sent :p

I started with stamping the leaves with Altenew Olive and Memento Bamboo leaves. The pine cone is stamped with Memento Peanut brittle.

I added the circle die which was first blended with Frosty Pink and Rouge from Altenew and stamped witch Festive berries distress ink. I used foam tape to adhere this circle to the card.

I first stamped the flowers with Versafine black ink and cut it out by hand.
For the background I blended worn lipstick, festive berries and barn door to create a gradient look.

Fish on card

2 days ago my father-in-law turned 70!
I already made him a card but my mother-in-law wanted to give him a fishing line as he likes fishing very much. So I made him a second card :)

Fish on card

I found a cute fish svg file on Pinterest and cut it out with my Silhouette Cameo.
Next I used the waves stencil from SSS and blended 3 blue distress oxide ink colors.
I splattered some water on top of it to get an oxidized look and added some glossy accents. It seems as if the the water droplets are on top of the card :)

Finally I used Black Soot to color the negative space behind the 'Fish on' word to increase the contrast.

- Distress oxide ink:
          - Broken China
          - Mermaid Lagoon

Waxed card

I'm so busy lately with my work that I have barely time to make cards. But today I found some time to make one. It's a card for my father-in-law who's turning 70 next week.

I used a gear embossing folder on black cardstock and added some gold and silver guilding wax to create a fun effect.

A get-well autumn card

Today I made another card on demand, a get-well card.

Because the weather is changing and the trees get colorful leaves, I was inspired to make an autumn themed card with a warm orange color.

First I stamped the leaves with Versamark and heat set this with white embossing powder.
Next I blended Aged Mahogany on the outside with Spiced Marmelade on the inside of the card.

A fake birth card

A colleague of mine will soon be dad of a baby boy. My father-in-law knows him very well and my colleague told him the name of the baby will be Hypolite :'D
Hahaha and he absolutely believes it lol :)
So he asked me to make a fake birth card just for him.

First I stamped the donkeys with Memento Onyx black ink and colored them with Chameleon markers. Next I cut them out by hand.

Then I took a stroke of petrol cardstock and die cut the name with the alphabet dies from Hero Arts.
I used this stroke as a guide to stamp the letters on a piece of white cardstock with Ocean Waves from Altenew.

Finally I assembled the card and used some foam squares to adhere the donkeys to the card.

Flamingo baby girl card

Last week our neighbours became parents of a baby girl for the first time!
There was a flamingo on the birth card so I was inspired to make a card with a flamingo too :)

Flamingo card for a baby girl

I started stamping the flamingo with Altenew Rouge and Crimson ink and used the Wink of Stella to add a touch of glitter. For the legs I used Versafine Onyx black ink.
The sentiment is also stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink but here I added clear embossing powder on top of it.

The background is created with the halftone stencil from Altenew and I used the same Altenew colors as at the flamingo.

Flamingo card for a baby girl

Next I mounted the flamingo and sentiment on a piece of gold glitter paper and added a gold ribbon in the middle of it to finish the card.

Baby elephant card

Time for another baby card again. I love making baby cards since there are some many cute baby stamp sets and dies. I absolutely love it!

So here is a card I made for a baby boy. It's a pretty quick card I made last week.
I started with partially embossing the background with the Little Dots stamp set from Nellie Snellen.
Then I colored some cardstock with 4 different Altenew inks. I used the mini cubes from the Sea Shore cube set for this and die cut 4 elephants with the Jumbo Hugs dies from Clearly Besotted.

Baby elephant card

Next I stamped the sentiment with Pure Graphite from Altenew and used clear embossing powder to heat set this. In the picture it looks like black ink but it's actually a dark grey color.
To finish the card I used a ribbon to add that extra cuteness.

Freshly Made Sketches #350

When I saw the Freshly Made Sketches challenge of this week, I immediately knew I had to use the Christmas ball stamp from Scrapbook Atelier. I think it's a very elegant bauble.
So here's my first Christmas card of the year :)

http://freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/2018/08/freshly-made-sketches-350-sketch-by.html

Christmas card with rose gold embossing powder

First I stamped the Christmas ball on a piece of black cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed it with rose gold embossing powder from Lawn Fawn. Then I die cut this Christmas ball with a circle die.

Next I stamped the sentiment from Marianne Design also with Versamark and used the same embossing powder to heat set it.

Since I used a strip of vellum on the card I decided to mat the sentiment also with a piece of vellum and adhered it with foam tape.

I thought there was something missing on the card so I cut out a small border of about 5mm with my Silhouette Cameo and used the rose gold embossing powder again to heat set it.

Finally I made a bow with some ribbon and added this on top of the Christmas ball.

Freshly Made Sketches #349

I thought is was time again to compete with a sketch challenge so I made a card, actually 2 cards, for Freshly Made Sketches #349. But I am too late to submit my card for this challenge.
Allthough I'm pretty happy with the result :)

2-for-1 card

2-for-1 card

I started by stamping the sentiment and the butterfies with Versamark onto a piece of coral cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

While the stamps were on the same place on my stamping tool, I stamped the same with Coral Berry onto a piece of white cardstock.

Then I placed the 2 cards on top of each other and cut a stroke of about 1 inch out of the cards. This way the coral and white pieces have equally the same size. To assemble the cards I mixed the coral and white cards together and ended up with 2 cards.

Tropical card

With this tropical weather I thought it would be fun to make a tropical card.
I used the Tropics stamp set from Avery Elle to stamp the leaved and cut them out by hand.

Next I stamped the smaller leaves in the background. I used both the leaves from Flower Friend and Oh Happy Day from SSS.
With the Clarity stencil brushes and Twisted citron distress ink I created a subtile color in the background.

Then I used foam squares to adhere the tropical leaves to add a bit of dimension.

For the sentiment I die cut the word Hooray twice and pasted them together to make it more like a 3D word and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I like the way it turned out.

Baby in a circle card

My sister just had a baby girl and a few weeks ago she told me the colors would be green, old rose/salmon and dark yellow/gold. So I was inspired to make a baby girl card with these colors.

Baby girl card

Next I added the Nuvo drops in the wreath to give it some dimension and I also added some Fossilized Amber splatters.

On Youtube I saw a tutorial how to emboss with a stencil and I wanted to try it myself.

I started with blending the distress colors with a blending foam.
Then I sprayed the stencil with water and put it on my card for 2-3 minutes with a paper towel on top.

Let's celebrate you

Next week it's my oldest sister's birthday so I needed to make her a birthday card. She likes blue so I decided to use Faded jeans distress oxide ink in combination with the Amazing you stamp set from Stampin' Up!

First I stamped the flowers and the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.
Then I used a blending tool to color the background with Faded jeans distress oxide ink.

SU Amazing you

I wanted the flowers to be a bit lighter than the background so I used a brush and some water to color the inside of the flowers. This way the oxide ink reacts with the water and it creates a softer look.

SU Amazing you

Finally I added some white Nuvo crystal drops as a finishing touch.
