Freshly Made Sketches #350

When I saw the Freshly Made Sketches challenge of this week, I immediately knew I had to use the Christmas ball stamp from Scrapbook Atelier. I think it's a very elegant bauble.
So here's my first Christmas card of the year :)

Christmas card with rose gold embossing powder

First I stamped the Christmas ball on a piece of black cardstock with Versamark and heat embossed it with rose gold embossing powder from Lawn Fawn. Then I die cut this Christmas ball with a circle die.

Next I stamped the sentiment from Marianne Design also with Versamark and used the same embossing powder to heat set it.

Since I used a strip of vellum on the card I decided to mat the sentiment also with a piece of vellum and adhered it with foam tape.

I thought there was something missing on the card so I cut out a small border of about 5mm with my Silhouette Cameo and used the rose gold embossing powder again to heat set it.

Finally I made a bow with some ribbon and added this on top of the Christmas ball.

Freshly Made Sketches #349

I thought is was time again to compete with a sketch challenge so I made a card, actually 2 cards, for Freshly Made Sketches #349. But I am too late to submit my card for this challenge.
Allthough I'm pretty happy with the result :)

2-for-1 card

2-for-1 card

I started by stamping the sentiment and the butterfies with Versamark onto a piece of coral cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

While the stamps were on the same place on my stamping tool, I stamped the same with Coral Berry onto a piece of white cardstock.

Then I placed the 2 cards on top of each other and cut a stroke of about 1 inch out of the cards. This way the coral and white pieces have equally the same size. To assemble the cards I mixed the coral and white cards together and ended up with 2 cards.

Tropical card

With this tropical weather I thought it would be fun to make a tropical card.
I used the Tropics stamp set from Avery Elle to stamp the leaved and cut them out by hand.

Next I stamped the smaller leaves in the background. I used both the leaves from Flower Friend and Oh Happy Day from SSS.
With the Clarity stencil brushes and Twisted citron distress ink I created a subtile color in the background.

Then I used foam squares to adhere the tropical leaves to add a bit of dimension.

For the sentiment I die cut the word Hooray twice and pasted them together to make it more like a 3D word and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I like the way it turned out.

Perennial Birthday card

I haven't found much time to stamp lately because of the hot summer this year.
But I'm glad I have airconditioning in my house :)

So today I made a card with the Perennial Birthday stamp set from SU.

SU - Perennial Birthday

SU - Perennial Birthday

I first started by ruling the black lines with a Sharpie pen.
Next I placed a sticky note along the edge of the black lines and stamped the flowers and leaves with Memento Tuxedo Black. After stamping I colored them with Twin Markers.
The sentiment is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black.
Finally I added some glossy accents on the berries to create a little bit of dimension.
