Missees by Karin Joan - Tanny

Hi crafty friends,

This newest Missee lives for only one thing,
she loves sunbathing above anything.
With her skin lightbrown kissed by the sun,
she works her tan just for fun.
Covid-19 couldn't stop her for getting some color,
watch-out 'Tanny', don't forget your mouth-cover.

Missees by Karin Joan - Tanny

I first stamped the face and upper body with Melanie, which is the base stamp set. For the hair I used Miranda.
For the eyes and mouth I used Tasha.
The clothes are from Tatjana.

When all was stamped I drew a pencil line for her mouth mask. I colored her with Copic markers, leaving the area of her mouth mask lighter. Then I errased the pencil line.

Next I partially cut her out.
I used a patterned paper from the Missees paper pad and adhered this to the card base. Next I adhered Tanny to the card with foam tape to create some dimension.

Finally I printed the sentiment (font: KBWritersBlock) and adhered this to the card.

Missees by Karin Joan - Kim Mono

Hi all!

This newest character is a girl that serves.
While serving, she dreams about the Samurai she deserves.
A wonderful teahouse, with a lake full of kois.
A beautiful Feng Shui garden and kids with many toys.
What would this Geisha's name be?
Kim Mono is the name of this Missee.

For this Missee I used Betty, which is the base set, to cut out the head and body.
As it also cuts out the ears, I adhered them at the back with tape.

Next I stamped the eyes from Carol with Versafine Onyx Black ink. The mouth is also from Carol and is stamped with Memento Love Letter ink.

Tip: The eyes are about the same height as the ears. You can align the stamp with the face. That should be the correct place to stamp the eyes.

Then I used Betty again to cut out her clothes. I stamped some leaves from Carol with Versamark and heat set them with Gold embossing powder. I then colored the kimono with Barn Door distress oxide ink. I did the same with the hairband. The hair is from Tasha.

For the kimono I also used the curved die from Betty to create a golden edge. For the golden collar I used a Versamarker and heat embossed this with gold embossing powder.

When this Missee was finished I stamped the background from Ellen Hutson with Versafine Onyx Black ink and adhered the Missee with foam tape to create some dimension.

I used the print and cut function in my Silhouette Studio to print and cut the image. Then I colored it with Copic markers.

For the background I used the Watercolor Frames from Altenew and stamped the circle several times with
Dark Chocolate Altenew ink.

Finally I adhered the cup with the flowers with foam tape for dimension.

Rachel Vass Designs - Fun Flowers Slimline

Happy Saturday!

Isn't the new released digital from Rachel Vass Designs
called 'Fun Flowers Slimline' beautiful?

Rachel Vass Designs - Fun Flowers Slimline

I colored the flowers with Zig markers and for the background I used a gel plate with 3 Distress Oxide inks.
I have my gel plate for several years now but didn't use it that much.
A few weeks ago Jennifer McGuire shared a video with lots of inspiration using a gel plate. So I decided to get back on track with mine.

Missees by Karin Joan - Iris

Hi crafty friends,

Flowers is this Missee's number one thing,
that is exactly why her favorite season is spring.
No matter what color or what kind,
she has flowers all day on her mind.
Her name is based on one of the most flowery Goo Goo Dolls songs,
"Iris" is the name that to this Missee belongs!

Another Christmas Card in September

Happy Friday!

Here I have another Christmas in September card I want to share with you.

Lately I ordered the beautiful Sparkling Snowflake die from Uniko which was still lying here on my desk screaming to be used ;-)

I was inspired by the colors of the Color Hues challenge and this is the card I made.

Uniko Sparkling Snowflake

First I die cut the snowflake 2 times and colored them with 2 different Altenew ink colors. As the name of the die is Sparkling Snowflake I wanted to add a little sparkle to my card so I added some Cosmic Shimmer Paste on top of the turquoise snowflake.
I used foam tape to adhere these 2 snowflakes to the card base.

Next I stamped the sentiment from the Festive Sentiments set with Sapphire Altenew ink and colored the edges of the strip with the same ink.

Finally I wanted to add some paint splatters to the card but I didn't want use a paint brush because I wanted to have control over these splatters. Instead I used the Distressed Patterns from MFT and stamped them with Turquoise Altenew ink.

I used the pint and cut function in my Silhouette Studio for the sentiment and the fall leaves and colored them with Zig markers.

Finally I adhered the colored leaves and bakers twine to a piece of kraft cardstock.

Missees by Karin Joan - Nancy

Hi crafty friends,

I'm super excited to announce that I'm part of the Missees DT team from Karin Joan! She has a wonderful collection of stamps and dies to create your own unique Missees!

Here is my first Missee to share with you.

Missees by Karin Joan - Nancy

I am proud as can be, to present you this Missee!
She's based on the person I call myself "me".
She's sweet and loving and follows her dreams.
She loves making cards and gentle kitty screams.
So, with this in your mind, what may her name be?
Yes, you all guessed it, her name is "Nancy"!

For this card I was inspired by a video tutorial from Jennifer McGuire which you can find here.

I first started with the Missee by stamping the upper body, head and hair from Melanie, which is the base stamp set. The eyes and mouth are from Tasha. When I finished coloring her with Copic markers, I cut her out by hand.

For the clothes I used Betty and the white bow is from Tasha as well as her necklace.

As I said I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire for this slimline bridge card so after watching her video I assembled my card. As I'm a big animal lover I chose the animal design paper from Karin Joan's paper pad. The wooden background is a piece of design paper I found in my stash.
I also added a border by adhering thin strips on the edges of the card.

The sentiment is a freebie from Karin Joan which I cut with my Silhouette Cameo.
If you are subscribed to Karin Joan's newsletter you receive a password to access her freebies.
